Civil Rights March, January, 1987

Civil Rights activist Hosea Williams led a small group of protesters towards the Forsyth County courthouse on January 17 only to be stopped at the Cumming city line by white supremacists. The following week 20,000 people marched in the largest civil rights protest since the 1960's



Battle of Allatoona Pass
As John Bell Hood moved north through western Georgia following his defeat at Atlanta, he tried to take the rail pass at Allatoona. The fateful battle marked another in the string of defeats suffered by the Confederate General. More The Civil War in Georgia
