The Cherokee

Before 1800 the powerful Cherokee controlled the western half of eastern North America from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Mississippi River and from the Ohio River to North Georgia. This article is an overview of the Cherokee culture that would form a nation in North Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and a small portion of North Carolina.
